To celebrate our latest Hot Cocoa Duo launch, here’s our recipe for the coziest drink.

Ingredients you’ll need

⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder: This allows you to control your desired level of sweetness with sugar.

A dash of vanilla extract: Ties the whole drink together and lifts it to the next level.

3 ½ cups of milk of your choice: We recommend whole milk, but any sort of milk will do the trick. Depending on your choice of milk, your hot cocoa may come out creamier or more watery of a consistency.

Half a bar of dark chocolate, roughly chopped: Adds another layer of richness to your drink

A pinch of salt: Helps bring out the flavors of the dark chocolate without making your drink salty.

¾ cup white sugar, or to taste: You may use other sweetener alternatives, but we recommend a crystalline sweetener.

⅓ cup water: Used to bloom your cocoa powder to make everything mix together smoothly without clumps.

Marshmallows (optional): We recommend using less sugar if you choose to top your hot cocoa with marshmallows.

Candy cane (optional): If you enjoy a minty flavor to your hot cocoa, consider adding a candy cane for flavor and as a cute, festive decoration.

Baileys (optional): Add a splash of Baileys to spike your hot cocoa.

Instructions

Step 1: Gather ingredients

Step 2: In a saucepan, whisk together your dry ingredients before adding water. Bring to a boil while constantly stirring.

Step 3: Once it has reached a boil, lower to a simmer and add your chopped chocolate. Stir occasionally.

Step 4: Once the chocolate has fully melted, add in your milk.

Step 5: Just before it reaches a boil, take your saucepan off the heat and add in your vanilla extract.

Step 6: Pour into separate mugs and enjoy!
